Cheeku ! Fabulous tournament this year too my Friend, your team could not lift up the trophy in their name this year in Boys. But never the less game was a memorable one both for the boys and girls and I am sure each one of them would take that back in their hearts and minds individually as a wonderful memory.
Imran Bhai , Ravi and others did give a pep talk to the players in between and the game continued to be changing at times. Infact Incredible support and cheering from all sides took all of us back to the days when we all used be there on the courts cheering for you and your team, shouting on those fantastic Dribbling, Dodging, Lifting and Rebounding techniques of your’s and your fellow friends- Nimish , Tubby ,Kuka ,Imran bhai, Rahul Khandelwal (Khandu Bhai) ,. How those special Inimitable styles and techniques used to dazzle everyone and of course at times it helped you all to gain those extra brownie points too 🙂
Infact we have been following some of the sports enthusiasts from Xavier’s like Himanshu and his friends on social networking sites for more than month with their comments and tweets about how they all have been looking forward to this tournament, how the current and ex players from school have been trying real hard to be there for the finals. We all so believe in the tagline designed by Imran bhai’s team for your Tournament which says “Everything is organized EXCEPT the Game” and there was no doubt about it and it was so evident.. Father Principal, Organizing Secretary Mr. Rana, Staff and definitely the ground support teams , coaches , referees and some of our very dear coaches Harry Sir, Dandiya Ji did their best to make it all a real success.
In the respective notes from Honorable Chief Guest Mr. Rajeeva Swarup, Father Principal John Ravi, Org Sec they all did mention how this tournament in last 7 years has grown and looked up by so many young players and by all schools across the city of Jaipur as one the most promising platform. And I am sure we all, along with the support from St.Xavier’s School Authorities will continue to make it big both in its scale and presence.
Coming back to the Tournament highlights – yes this year St. Edmunds were a better side and we all appreciated that too…but you would know and understand as being one of the most responsible, passionate player and as the School captain that how does it feel to give the cup away…and so was the state of our school team too.. But I am sure the spirit to lift it will be charged up again to get the cup back next year. And like always – players with support from their coaches, parents, and friends and by again investing a yearlong hard work and efforts to prepare themselves for the next game in 2012.
Night before the finals along with, Kaku, Tubs, Abhin, Dr D ,sunny , sardara , chota and others it was also absolutely hilarious and another crazy night for all of us . How I’m so sure you would have enjoyed it too..The long awaited reunion of our class of 2000 Xavier’s also finally happened, some could make it to the finals day and some were there with us in spirits. It was awesome catching up with all of them after so long and everyone left with this hope and belief that this day in years to come would definitely be an annual reunion for all of us too and I am sure this will grow big too just like your game.
Cheeku! So many good things have happened around this tournament this year like always – some of your dear friends have become or would be becoming proud parents again :), marriages are on the cards for few, new job assignments, confirmation of assignments / promotions, batch reunions and many more. How I and we all so firmly believe Cheeku that this tournament is not only just a 3-4 days high performing platform for the sports enthusiasts but also a festival of celebrations for all of us too who are connected.
