Dec 2004 – England – it was a cold wintry morning in Cardiff, Cheeku was sleeping when I called him, he was out pub crawling a night before with his pretty British lasses, he sounded groggy when he took my call, The young man had no choice but to give me an interview. I needed an Indian voice for my radio documentary for the University radio. The topic was Why do British Asian Women hate Asian Men, sounds like a funny topic, was meant to be a funny topic but Mr Mayaram gave humour a new dimension, and must I add his sound byte certainly scandalised a few of my ‘proper british teachers’.
