The year is coming to an end

Cheeku beta,

The year is coming to an end, its 31st all over again. This year end is with a difference. You are in the next world across a huge ocean…and I cand traverse the ocean as yet to see you having a whale of a time-wearing the incredibly trye-to-you tee shirt that said ‘ I AM A F@&^*#% RAY OF SUNSHINE, AIN’T I’! You couldn’t be more true beta. Yes, you are one happy ray of sunshine that brightens up our day and lights up our nights.

Youu were always there, even long distance, ever the elder bro to Tubby, ever the prankster son who was always careful about not hurting feelings of parents and friends (never mind eggs and the Jain friend!). Remember, I would insist that we shouls all go for new year party together and how you would want all your friends there and then you would flit in and put of our evening because you wanted to have a great time with your friends and you wanted not to let me feel you had not spent time with me…

There are so many memories that surround me and I can see you now here now there. Your voice I can hear from the distance of time, your smile, your big nose pointing in the direction of mischief and fun all the time.

You must be having a great time this new year’s eve. Because ‘I know for sure, there are no tears in heaven’. Only love luck and laughter.

Long ago I had read a poem and the first few lines were:

‘Hum deewanon ki kya hasti,
Hain aaj idhar, kal wahan chale,
Masti ka alam saath chala,
Hum dhool udate jahan chale…’

How this poem depicts how you lived your life and must live even now…

Love you so much…

Dad
